Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi has lauded the move by the Qatar government to aid in the development of 140,000 housing units in the country.
While making the announcement when he paid Muturi a courtesy call, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar, Jabor Ali Al-Dosari said his government is ready to invest US$3.5 towards the initiative which is under the government’s big four agenda of affordable housing.
Muturi encouraged for further partnership noting that it would strengthen the already existing bilateral relations that the two countries share. He cited the enhanced relations that Kenya and the State of Qatar enjoy especially after the historic state visit by the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al- Thani in April last year.
Al-Dosari also took the opportunity to invite Muturi to attend the 140th Assembly of the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU), which will be hosted in April. Parliament of Kenya has over the years greatly benefited from IPU forums especially through capacity building for MPs and its staff.
