SA to host Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors summit

South Africa will be hosts, for the first time, of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
The summit ,on March 25, aims to engage key players in Africa’s built environment to discuss the continent’s growth and future success.

According to the Country Manager of RICS South Africa TC Chetty, Africa will benefit from the summit as they will have access to a large pool of built environment professionals.

Chetty further noted that population growth and urbanisation was causing unprecedented change in Africa’s built environment. This is expected to grow by 60% percent above the 2010 level in some cities.

International Monetary Fund reflected that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in some countries will exceed that of their counterparts in developed countries. Ethiopia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Ghana, Zambia and Nigeria would have 5 to 7% growth.

The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors also has plans to expand its operations to the three key regional markets mainly South Africa, Ghana and Kenya.
