Ceenex keeps giving through multiple CSI initiatives

Ceenex, a leading independent management, technology, and engineering consultancy, is helping to uplift many communities through its corporate social-investment (CSI) initiatives.

Ceenex’s CSI partners include BrainLife, Oliver’s Village and Lesedi la Batho Community Centre. Their programmes are having a profound positive impact on the lives of many South Africans, and the firm is currently exploring ways in which to extend its reach to include more community centres in the greater Gauteng area.

“Considering the nature of our business and the important role that the engineering profession plays in society at large, it made sense to partner these three organisations for our CSI programmes,” Kedibone Moatshe, who oversees the firm’s CSI projects, says. “They have displayed a will and effort to address important needs that are overlooked in more developed communities, while finding very innovative ways in which to help solve pressing social challenges. With our support and that of other companies, we are sure that BrainLife, Oliver’s Village and Lesedi la Batho Community Centre will be able to make an even larger impact on the lives of many citizens.”

BrainLife supports more than 120 people who are affected by acquired brain injury, also known as the “silent epidemic” because it is an illness that largely remains hidden in the shadows.

Oliver’s Village provides social services to about 600 members of the Daveyton community every day. These include early childhood development, maths and science education, computer training and enterprise development. Oliver’s Village also operates a soup kitchen where it helps to feed homeless and destitute members of the community, while also using its vegetable gardens to train community members in food security. 

Lesedi la Batho Community Centre is helping to uplift members of the Mabopane community. Among its many objectives is developing young and vibrant entrepreneurs who can support themselves and help grow the South African economy.

Lesedi la Batho Community Centre also operates an old-age home and day care centre. This is in addition to providing schooling and adult basic education and training classes, while also taking care of the elderly and providing counselling to victims of gender-based violence.

Kgomotso Sekgobela, a Ceenex Director, says that he is proud of the firm’s association with BrainLife, Oliver’s Village and Lesedi la Batho Community Centre.

“As a responsible corporate citizen, we take our CSI commitments very seriously. We will, therefore, continue extending our reach to include more innovative CSI partners who display similar values and ethos to ours. This will ensure that we are able to keep on giving back to more communities in need through our CSI programmes,” Sekgobela concludes.
