Bamburi Cement has introduced a construction solution that will reduce construction time for large projects by over 80%. Bamburi Cement’s rapid mass fresh concrete solution dubbed Poweraft is designed for the construction of foundations for skyscrapers, bridge piers and generally all applications requiring mass delivery of fresh concrete.
Poweraft is a ready-mix concrete offer that will speed up construction time through continuous concrete pour in projects of more than 2,000 metric tonnes in under 48 hours, a process that ordinarily can take almost a month using traditional methods.
Commenting on the solution, Bamburi Cement’s Managing Director Seddiq Hassani said that Poweraft is a unique offer that includes benefits like three dedicated high capacity concrete production plants, 21 transit mixer tracks and six boom concrete pumps for rapid transfer of concrete from the mixer trucks among a host of other benefits.
Additionally, the solution includes proprietary LafargeHolcim software and testing tools to predict and control temperature build-up in mass concrete to guard against thermal cracks. The software outputs detailed simulated thermal imagery and temperature gradients of placed concrete.
Poweraft will be provided by Bamburi Special Products and inherent in the solution is the provision of a mobile concrete laboratory to conduct on-site tests that will be manned by highly trained and dedicated staff. “As a company, we are keen to support the government’s Big Four Agenda in which the sector is expected to contribute 15% of the Gross Domestic (GDP) by 2022,” said Hassani.
Bamburi’s desire to innovate is fueled by the need to provide construction solutions that respond to the needs of the market. The company has pledged to continue doing so as it aims to become the undisputed leader in building materials.
