Johan van Wyk has been appointed to the position of Commercial Director:
Construction at dmg events and will operate out of the Cape Town office.
Van Wyk matriculated from Grey College, Bloemfontein in 1989 and
subsequently served for three years in the South African Defence Force, as a
junior leaders’ instructor.
He then completed his Civil Engineering studies at the Central
University of Technology, Bloemfontein, studied sustainable construction at the
École nationale supérieure d’architecture de
Grenoble in France and is currently completing his project for the
internationally renowned Institute of Concrete Technology’s Advanced Concrete
Technology (ACT) diploma. His project title is: An Investigation into
the effect of the pH of the curing bath water on the compressive strength of
cubes
Van Wyk spent 10 years lecturing subjects including structural concrete
design and concrete technology, at the Central University of Technology,
Bloemfontein. He has worked for Lafarge, W. R. Grace and BASF as well as having
undertaken some contracting work. For the past six years he served as the
Director of the Southern Africa Readymix Association (SARMA) based in Midrand.
