The company extends its huge International blue-chip brand line up yet again
The rugged power tool market is set to heat up in South Africa, with the latest in CAT
Power tools being awarded exclusively to the Vermont Sales group. This week, ruggedised power tools maker CAT introduced its CAT DX12 Cordless and Brushless Drill to the South African market. CAT is designed and manufactured by Positec. The makers of innovative WORX, Kress and other leading successful brands. Sold, in South Africa, by Vermont Sales under the licence from Caterpillar. The range includes power tools running on the latest Graphene battery system. This technology is set to lead the way in the cordless tool category.
The CAT DX12 Brushless 18V Hammer Drill has a suggested retail price of R3999 and is available through Makro and online retail www.catpowertools.co.za “Compared with current cordless drills on the market, the CAT DX12 is more compact, with greater power, it is much faster, and incredibly tough, making it the ultimate work horse for all,” says Greg de Villiers, Brand Manager at Vermont Sales.
“It has undergone rigorous testing, including repeated drop tests, repetitive drilling, as well as extensive water, dirt and dust tests, plus temperature extreme survivability, vibration and tumble tests,” he went onto say.
In 2021, this new technology will be made available in SA, targeting construction, trade, renovation, and DIY enthusiasts. “South Africa is an important market for CAT Powertools with a strong mix of workstyle and lifestyle led customers who have more demanding needs of their power tools,” said Wiktor Wencel, Export Director for Sub-Saharan Africa at Positec International. He went onto say that the company has been working at introducing their brands and technology in SA since 2015.
“Understanding our customers and giving them what they need in a power tool is core to our business. Our global customer surveys, are well supported in South Africa, giving us in-depth insight into who our customers are what they need from their power tools. We are well known for making innovative tough tools that grow markets and offer users true innovation. “Our heartland has traditionally been in mining, construction, engineering, agriculture and all associated trades, but we have also earned a strong following in lifestyle-led activities like high performance clothing, outdoor and sporting pursuits. Over time we’ve evolved our portfolio to reflect these core segments within our customer base.”
Wencel explains the updated CAT power tool range is made up of a universal battery system. One battery, one power supply fitting all models of CAT cordless tools in the range. This gives users added value of expanding their range of tools at a lower cost.
“We have found the perfect partner with Vermont Sales team who know this business well and have the expertise, experience, excellent sales team and an outstanding distribution network,” said Wencel.
